Reels, TikTok’s Opponent, Will Be Launched By Instagram In The US In Early August
Will the effort to defeat TikTok from the US be successful?
Instagram has just confirmed that it is preparing to launch Reels — considered a rival of TikTok — in the US. The company is expected to bring a brand new video feature, designed specifically for creative content with a brief amount, to its platform in early August. Earlier this July, Reels made their appearance in India shortly after the government issued the ban on TikTok. Reels are also being tested in Brazil, France, and Germany.
It is known that Instagram will bring Reels to the US and more than 50 other countries in just a few weeks.
A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the Reels launch event in the US and internationally, saying, “We are excited to bring Reels to more countries, including the US, in early August,” but did not provide additional specifics are available for other markets.
“The user community in our testing countries has shown tremendous creativity in short videos, and we hear from creators and people around the world that they are excited encouraged to start using it, “- the person added.
