How Was I Quarantined in Moscow?
Surprisingly, as a country filled with negative information from the West, my four-year life in Moscow, Russia has given me completely different experiences from what I’ve read.
Maybe I will spend another article to share about Russia. In this post, I will only talk about my quarantine experience. In terms of number of infections, Russia is currently ranked 4th in the world with more than 3 million positive cases, approximately 60,000 deaths (adjusted upward by the Russian Government) and more than 2.5 million cases of recovery so far (1/2/2021 by WHO). Thus, according to this data, the number of deaths in Russia is ranked 4th in the world. An exogenous crisis with truly terrible numbers for a turbulent 2020.
One day in mid-December, after returning home from work, my roommate was determined to be positive for COVID-19. I was utterly perplexed and depressed, because I haven’t been vaccinated by Sputnik.
